Synopsis
Three-part documentary series about fantasy fiction, which has become one of the biggest-selling genres in publishing thanks to JK Rowling's Harry Potter books and Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. This edition tells the story of how, in the 1950s, two very different writers created texts that revolutionised fantasy literature - JRR Tolkien, the Oxford academic and writer of The Lord Of The Rings, and the visionary surrealist artist Mervyn Peake, creator of the Gormenghast trilogy.
