The team at Welcome Break are the unstoppable fundraising force of the UK’s roads, raising over £1.4 million since 2004.
Right through the year you’ll have spotted our favourite yellow bear joining the team to help bring in the pennies from their visitors. Holiday makers, business people and day trippers - there was plenty of opportunity for Welcome Break customers to donate to us as staff got to work selling cakes, dressing up and even asking people to ‘spare a penny’ when they ‘spend a penny’ at the most used facilities on-site.
In 2013, the team kicked off their fundraising activity with a Circus themed Summer Ball and kept busy throughout their 29 sites. Did you buy their special ‘Are we there yet?’ children’s t-shirts?
The team at Welcome Break are the unstoppable fundraising force of the UK’s roads, raising over £1.4 million since 2004 and a whopping £520,000 this year!
Welcome Break and BBC Children in Need has a connection built on the huge enthusiasm and support right across the partnership. From motorway service teams to office staff, the Welcome Break team believe in what their money supports and who they help. Fundraising for us allows Welcome Break people to be a bit daring, break the mould and have some fun as a team all for a good cause.
Welcome Break’s support for us means that millions of people every year see Pudsey out and about. This is a great way to remind people that we’re here all year and not just in November.
The money they raise also helps us to support disadvantaged children and young people UK wide and that means an awful lot – thank you staff, customers and friends of Welcome Break.
