The year 1967 was a tumultuous one for British radio. It saw the sinking of the pirate ships, the end of the Home Service and Light Programme, the launch of BBC Radios 1 and 2 and the start of a two-year experiment in local broadcasting at BBC Radio Leicester. Tony Blackburn, the first voice on Radio 1, reveals what else was going on by introducing a sound collage of news, music, TV and radio.
