Analysis of the biggest political stories in the North East and Cumbria
Broadcast Sun, 11 Dec 2011, 12:00 on BBC One (North East & Cumbria only) but not available on BBC iPlayer.
Jon Sopel and Richard Moss are here with the top political stories of the week.
The team at the Politics Show in the North East and Cumbria covers a large and diverse area, taking in a broad range of cities, towns and rural regions.
We report from Newcastle to Carlisle and from Alnwick to Keswick.
Richard Moss was born in Bebington, on Merseyside, but moved to Cumbria as a child. His first brush with politics was when he failed to get elected to his School Council. He vowed to wreak revenge on all politicians from then on in!
After going to school in Cockermouth he studied History at Cambridge.
His first job was reporting for the Cumberland News and News & Star in Carlisle, cutting his political teeth in the tough and unforgiving world of Silloth and Aspatria Town Councils.
He then moved into broadcasting at BBC Radio Cumbria, based in its Whitehaven studio for much of the time.
He began working for the Politics Show in Newcastle in 2002, and has presented the programme since 2004.
He is the Political Editor for the BBC in the North East and Cumbria, and has a well-behaved daughter and two unruly cats.
Mark was born in Luton but grew up in the Midlands.
He studied English at Exeter University where he helped run the campus radio station.
After graduating he spent a spell selling advertising space for national newspapers before launching once again into the world of media.
He worked for commercial radio stations in East Anglia before joining the BBC in 1990 at Radio York.
He has had a lifelong passion for politics and became Political Reporter for the BBC in Leeds in 1996 before becoming Political Correspondent for BBC North East and Cumbria.
His claims to fame include interviewing former Cabinet Minister Virginia Bottomley on a roller coaster and getting former Prime Minister Tony Blair's views on the cup final.
He has also filmed from an open top car in the Bronx.
For his sins, he is a life long Coventry City fan.
He's married and has a lovely - but very noisy -young daughter.
