In November Sounds Classical broadcast a special live concert with the Ulster Orchestra from the Waterfront Hall in Belfast paying tribute Seamus Heaney. The evening included music which Heaney loved as well as readings of several of his poems by the acclaimed actor Stephen Rea. Sounds Classical with the National Youth Orchestra in Derry/Londonderry

Sounds Classical with the National Youth Orchestra in Derry/Londonderry
In summer 2013 we recorded a special edition of the programme at the UK City of Culture Derry/Londonderry. The National Youth Orchestra and their dynamic conductor Vasily Petrenko were in residence in the city and some of their members came along to the Magee Hall and performed specially for us alongside local young musicians and members of the Derry based choir Codetta.
