Synopsis

The celebrated blockbuster recounting the life of Mohandas K Gandhi, who started out as a lawyer and rose to become the leader of the Indian independence movement. Preaching a sophisticated and forceful version of pacifism, he helped to liberate his country from colonial rule and was a symbol of peace and compassion throughout the world. The film won eight Oscars, ranging from Best Screenplay to Best Picture.
