Inside Out East

Hello I'm David Whiteley and I present Inside Out in the East.

Well it’s always busy on the Inside Out desk here in the East of England. We’re always digging around for those surprising stories.

We’ve got investigations, wildlife, history and of course the extraordinary! And all from this great part of the world, the East of England.

I was unleashed on the unsuspecting world on May 4, 1977 at a maternity unit in Essex, and this part of the England has always been my home.

So working for Inside Out here is fantastic because I know the patch, I grew up here. 

I started out in commercial radio as a reporter and news reader when I was 18, and then moved onto BBC Essex.

Then the TV thing started. 

I became a reporter for BBC Look East, soon discovering that telly is an art form. I fell in love with the job.

Then I landed my dream job at the start of 2003, presenting Inside Out!  I'm also a producer on the programme.

So I’ve been doing the programme some time now, and still really enjoy it!
