After a brief shop floor apprenticeship with a local firm in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, Dominic moved to Bristol for the opportunity to wield the auctioneer's hammer. He spent nearly 15 years in Bristol and created a thriving book department where previously there was none.
Since 1987, he has been running his own auction rooms and is now located at South Cerney, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire where he specialises in the sale and valuation of old and rare printed books, historical documents, autographs and related items.
Dominic has been with the Antiques Roadshow team since 2002 and has recorded a number of important items, such as two letters from Mary Queen of Scots written during her imprisonment in Sheffield Castle at the hands of Queen Elizabeth, which turned up at Sheffield in 2007.
