Denise's ex had a disappointing life. She left Owen due to his heavy drinking, but things turned from bad to worse when he went from drowning his sorrows to almost drowning his daughter, Libby.

Serving three years of his five year sentence in prison and support from devoted mum Liz, however, seemed to help Owen get his life back on track.

Run-ins with Lucas over Denise threatened to scupper Owen’s parole, but any plans to crash the wedding were cancelled when Lucas tied a dicky bow around his throat shortly before tying the knot with Denise.
