Find out more about Radio 4's Character Invasion

Character Invasion is taking place on Saturday 29th March 2014 and is set to be a fun-filled celebration of all things character.

There will be two strands to the day. There will be programming dedicated to character happening on Radio 4 throughout the day as well as fun-filled events that will be free to attend.

Find out what events are happening near you here. Guests will have the chance to meet their favourite characters, have sessions with the actors and writers that bring them to life and take a peek behind the scenes of some of the BBC's best-loved programmes.

There’s something for everyone during Character Invasion, from clay model making for younger children through to web chats via the Writers Room with well-known writers.

At our events you’ll be able to meet the cast of some of the best-loved CBBC programmes and take a look behind the scenes and see how the productions teams create the programmes you love. If you aren't able to make it to an event there will be dedicated programmes throughout the day on BBC Radio 4; you’ll hear interviews with some of best loved characters, their creators as well as a live version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

After the events you'll be able to catch up with all of the special programmes online.

The events are open to all age groups and there will be events for the whole family, however it is important that all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please also note that parents and guardians are responsible for their children's behaviour at the events.

BBC Character Invasion events are taking place in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, London and Salford.

If you can’t make it to an event you can participate by listening to BBC Radio 4 and contributing online. More details to follow.

Absolutely nothing! All of the events are FREE.

There are both ticketed and drop-in sessions taking place across the country. You can book ticketed events from the 5th until the 13th March from the BBC Shows and Tours website. Links to book the tickets are on each event's page.

Drop-in sessions will also run throughout the day. Please check out each individual site's page for more information.

There will be some drop-in events taking place across the country, which you will be able to just turn up for.

Other events will be ticketed and you can see a break-down of each region's sessions on their events' page.

Tickets are being managed by BBC Shows and Tours.

All tickets will be confirmed by email – you will need to print the email out and bring it along on the day.

Doors will normally open an hour before the event begins.

If an event is sold out, unfortunately it’s unlikely you’ll be able to attend. However, there are lots of unticketed events taking place so you can still come along and take part.

The cast of some well-known BBC shows, actors and writers will be meeting their audiences and sharing their skills at various ticketed events. For full details and how to book tickets click here.
