8 of the biggest moments from Radio 1 in Ibiza 2018

Radio 1 in Ibiza was unmissable this year, with show-stopping sets from the likes of Annie Mac, Mark Ronson, Jax Jones, very special guest Robyn and many more. But if you somehow didn't manage to catch all the action, don't worry: we've got you covered.

From CamelPhat and Au/Ra to Octavian and Benji B, these are the biggest, best and most banging moments from Radio 1's two-day takeover at Café Mambo.

CamelPhat and Au/Ra meeting at last

WARNING: Contains flashing lights.

The weekend was something of a homecoming for Ibiza-born newcomer Au/Ra, whose family moved from the Spanish island to Antigua when she was 5. "Never thought I'd come back for something as cool as this," the singer said after her spellbinding performance with British duo CamelPhat.

The team-up was special for another reason, too. Despite their collaboration Panic Room proving to be a breakout hit this summer (and currently ruling the Radio 1 playlist), the two acts hadn't actually met face-to-face prior to Radio 1’s Ibiza bash bringing them together, having previously made the track by the wonders of the Internet. They delivered a hypnotic performance worthy of the track, set to a backdrop of sea, sunset and the odd superyacht. "Sing it if you know it," Au/Ra told the crowd, and fans duly obliged.

Jax Jones' two very special guests

Good things come in twos? Well, they definitely did during Radio 1's stint in Ibiza this year. Case in point: Jax Jones' hazy Friday afternoon set, which saw the deep house hitmaker bringing out not one but two guest stars during his performance.

Kicking off with a surprise appearance from Rudimental collaborator Sinéad Harnett, who helmed vocal duties for Jones' recent smash Breathe, Jax also brought out RAYE (one of the Radio 1 DJs' top tips for the weekend).

A day later, RAYE performed at the 1Xtra Takeover - watch her performance here.

Robyn making sure nobody danced alone

When Robyn popped in to Radio 1 last week, it wasn't only to reveal her emphatic, dizzying new single Missing U (although we're glad she did), it was also to announce a surprise performance at Radio 1 in Ibiza. "It's one of the places that's really important for making this music," Robyn told Annie Mac. "I love Ibiza. It's such a special place."

Robyn delivered a very special performance, too. Taking to Café Mambo as the sun set on Sunday night, the Swedish star not only played her new track but also some of her very biggest hits (Dancing On My Own, Call Your Girlfriend and With Every Heartbeat). Robyn has ruled the dancefloor for over a decade and, in Ibiza this year, reigned supreme it once again.

MK making us all feel 17

WARNING: Contains flashing lights.

With the sun well and truly set on Friday night, MK (aka US DJ Marc Kinchen) upped the party vibes with a set that included a guest appearance from Becky Hill, plus a tantalising performance of 17, another of this summer’s biggest earworms and the Detroit native’s biggest hit to date this side of the pond.

"Making a fool of me, I'm so keen. Baby, I got your back, like we're still 17," the chorus to MK’s massive hit may go, but, 17 or not, it’s safe to say that revellers of all ages lost themselves in the mass singalong that ensued when the track dropped at Cafe Mambo on Friday.

Annie Mac and Tiga bringing the vibes

The hardest working DJ around? Annie Mac delivered two back-to-back sets in Ibiza this year. Now, Annie’s no stranger to B2B sets - previous years have seen team ups with the likes of Disclosure last year, Heidi in 2016 and with fellow deck titan Pete Tong for Radio 1’s 20 year Ibiza celebrations in 2015.

But she continued the tradition in style this year, kicking her weekend off on Friday night with a blistering B2B set with Canada’s mix king Tiga. With tunes, bright lights and pyrotechnics, it’s safe to say that the pair didn’t disappoint.

Octavian proving he's a star-in-waiting

WARNING: Contains flashing lights.

Many were looking forward to seeing Octavian at Radio 1 in Ibiza, with both DJ Target and MistaJam picking the London rapper out as someone not to miss over the course of the weekend.

The French-born star made sure he wasn't overlooked, popping up twice on Sunday - delivering a show of his own (listen back here) as well as making a cameo during Benji B's set. During the latter performance, Octavian joined forces with Benji for a rendition of last year's slick and infinitely smooth Party Here, a song so good that even Drake is a fan.

Krystal Klear uniting all in dance

WARNING: Contains flashing lights.

Krystal Klear's Neutron Dance is the sort of song that instantly captures your attention, getting stuck in your head for days and making it hard to recall a time before you first heard it. It's a track that feels both timeless and very now.

The Irish DJ played the infectious doozy at Café Mambo on Sunday night and got absolutely everybody dancing - even Annie Mac was spotted throwing shapes.

Annie Mac and Mark Ronson providing the perfect ending

As far as supergroups go, they don't get much bigger than Mark Ronson and Annie Mac. Closing Radio 1 in Ibiza on Sunday night, the newly-united duo dropped remixes of Cardi B's Bodak Yellow, Migos' Bad and Boujee and Ronson's own Uptown Funk, sending fans home happy with the joyous I Feel Love by Donna Summer.

After recently teaming up with Diplo as Silk City, will we see a bright future for Ronson's newest all-star pairing with a Radio 1 DJ?
