What is BBC Radio York?

BBC Radio York is the BBC's local radio station covering North Yorkshire. It broadcasts a mix of news, sport, community information, conversation, music and entertainment, reflecting life in England’s largest county.

What is the remit of BBC Radio York?

The station offers a range of local news, sport and information about North Yorkshire along with national and international coverage. Our programmes range from a three hour interactive weekday breakfast show, live sporting commentaries, specialist themed hours on gardening, agriculture and the arts, those portraying a lighter side of life with a mix of celebrities, entertainers who celebrate local people and local places of interest.

Radio York aims to appeal to all listeners who are interested in North Yorkshire life and its people and this could range from farming to horseracing but we do attract the majority of our audience from the over 50’s.
