BBC Radio Wales offers a range of sport through the week and at weekends, across FM, AM, digital radio / TV and online. This page will guide you through what you will be able to hear, depending on what team you support, or what area of Wales you’re in.

We'll be updating this page ahead of the 2014/15 football seaon with information on what commentaries you can hear across Wales on BBC Radio Wales. Below is our guide for the now-finished 2013/14 season, which we've left here for reference.

FM

BBC Radio Wales has rights to broadcast every Cardiff City game home and away on FM in south east Wales (an area which approximately stretches west to Porthcawl and Maesteg, north to Abergavenny). Click here to find the FM frequency in your area.

We do not have the rights to broadcast Cardiff City games on FM outside south east Wales, unless that game is also being broadcast across the whole of the UK on 5Live or 5Live Sports Extra. In which case, we will offer Radio Wales commentary to all, or as wide a range as possible of, our frequencies.

Digital Radio / DAB

When Cardiff City games are broadcast on FM in south east Wales only, you will also hear them on DAB in the Cardiff area too. Outside of these times DAB carries the same version of Radio Wales as the rest of Wales.

AM & TV

When multiple games are on FM frequencies across Wales, then AM & Digital TV will act as a scores service. We do not have the rights to broadcast Cardiff City commentary on AM and Digital TV, unless that game is also being broadcast across the whole of the UK on 5Live or 5Live Sports Extra. If sports commentaries are featured on all frequencies, listeners to the webstream will hear a "blanking" message explaining the situation. During this time, listeners can tune in to the station via FM, AM, or digital to continue listening, or continue following most sports fixtures online via text updates on the BBC Sport website.

Should commentaries be available online, but restricted to listeners in the UK, we are currently able to offer these commentaries on the BBC Sport Wales website, at: bbc.co.uk/walessport

Listeners in Wales will always be able to hear live sport on Radio Wales across FM, AM (Medium Wave), on digital radio and TV; you'll find full details here on the BBC Radio Wales website.
