BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2019
Between 15-22 June 2019 the city of Cardiff, not to mention the BBC’s airwaves, will be filled with the glorious sounds coming from twenty of the world’s finest young singers, as they perform in front of our jury and our patron, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
Cardiff will once again be alive with song for the duration of the competition, with the Main Prize (at St David’s Hall), and the Song Prize (recitals at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and the final at St David’s Hall). We will welcome back our two orchestras, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera and our two accompanists, Llyr Williams and Simon Lepper.
Our exciting range of fringe events across the city will return, from films to recitals, master classes to talks; more information will be available in the spring of 2019.
