Late 18th Century memorial ring
This ring is said to have been handed down from a man who served with Nelson in 1794.
It marks the life and death of an 'R. Cheesemont' who was a surgeon on HMS Powerful. The ring is made from gold with an ivory backing and is referred to as a Memento Mori. Its current value is between £1,000 and £1,200.
