I’m fortunate to be working across a number of very different shows with some extremely talented people, as well as having the opportunity to discover and develop new talent.Bethan Jones

After a decade as an actor Bethan began working as a theatre director in 1990 and as Artistic Director of Script Cymru, a dual lingual (English and Welsh) new writing company, collaborated with Paines Plough, The Traverse and Soho Theatre.

Theatre directing led to directing TV drama and eventually Bethan joined BBC Wales in 2002 as Series Producer and then Executive Producer for local dramas Pobol Y Cwm, Belonging, Crash and Baker Boys.

Working alongside Julie Gardner in the newly energised BBC Wales Drama Dept in 2005, the focus was on building up the in house and indie sector for Network Drama in Wales.

Bethan has executive produced a number of inhouse and indie singles and series for network including The Chatterley Affair, Sherlock, Mistresses, Merlin, The Long Walk To Finchley, Hamlet, Margaret, Room At The Top, Wizards vs Aliens and is currently developing a number of inhouse projects alongside exec-ing indie shows Atlantis, A Poet In New York and Sherlock.
