Vivien is outraged when Julia tells her she has hired Heston as the new partner, as the drama set in a Midlands-based health centre continues. She remembers him from her hospital days when he used to bully Vivien and her staff. Vivien later apologises to Julia for questioning her judgement and says she is sure that Heston has changed.

Eva and Jimmi meet up in the park, but all she can tell him is that she's working undercover and not to worry. Back at the pub, Poppy has successfully carried out her first job and is on a high. Callum plies her with drinks and tries to get her upstairs, but Eva intervenes. Furious, Callum threatens Eva, making sure she sees the gun he has tucked in his jeans.

Daniel, meanwhile, sees a 70-year-old patient who has received a letter from the DVLA asking him to have a health check to see whether or not he is fit to drive. His daughter, who is behind the letter, claims he has alcohol-related seizures. However, as Daniel tries to avoid getting caught in the middle of the argument, it seems her real motivation is the fear that her father will keep driving into Birmingham to gamble away her inheritance.

Vivien is played by Anita Carey, Julia by Diane Keen, Eva by Angela Lonsdale, Jimmi by Adrian Lewis Morgan, Poppy by guest star Kerrie Hayes, Callum by guest star Philip Correia and Daniel by Matthew Chambers.

Silent Witness – Terror (Part 1) Ep 5/6
Wednesday 15 October
9.00-10.00pm BBC ONE
www.bbc.co.uk/silentwitness

When armed police raid a terraced house in North London, two suspected terrorists are killed, along with a police officer, in the last two-part story in this series of the medical crime-drama. The main suspect, Melik, is left clinging to life in hospital, while his younger sister, Isra, is detained for questioning.

Nikki is first to arrive on the scene. Tranfield, from counter terrorism, commends his teams. Their actions have stopped a catastrophic terrorist attack on London.

Outside the house, Nikki meets Isra. She's distressed. She talks of the brutality and recounts how they all had their hands in the air. She says her brother is a lapsed Muslim, not a terrorist, but Nikki takes it all with a pinch of salt.

As the team performs the post mortems, Nikki begins to doubt the officers' account of events. The forensics just don't add up. The dead "terrorists" were taking heroin, and went to a club the night before the raid. No evidence of explosives has been found, and there is a woman ("Jane Doe") who no one seems to know anything about. Nikki begins to question whether they were, in fact, innocent people, and whether the police officer was shot by one of his own team.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) are called, in the shape of Stickley, who quickly uncovers the fact that one police officer, Rhys, is having an affair with the dead officer's wife. He becomes the prime suspect for shooting him, and in firing the first shot, triggering the shootout that left three dead.

Meanwhile, Tranfield is worried that Stickley and the IPCC will stall his investigation of an ongoing terror threat, and asks the team to hold back their report. They refuse, and when Nikki heads home from work that evening, her laptop is stolen at gunpoint. Could this be the work of the police?

Leo Dalton is played by William Gaminara, Nikki Alexander by Emilia Fox and Harry Cunningham by Tom Ward. Isra is played by Gem Carmela, DI Adam Tranfield by Shaun Dooley, Edwin Stickley by Gary Lewis and Rhys Allen by Ciaran McMenamin.

This two-part episode is written by Michael Crompton.

Raymond Blanc starts this week's episode by doing what he loves most – cooking. With the couples waiting to hear what he has in store for their next weekend service, Raymond entertains them by knocking up a quick fricassee of tasty wild mushrooms.

His aim is to inspire their creative talents before sending them out to demonstrate their own cooking skills to the public. One of the chefs, who actually trained as a stand-up comic, finds entertaining the public with his kitchen abilities great fun – even in the rain. Another has a bad day, which just gets worse. A third, meanwhile, forgets what food is for, but inspectors Sarah Willingham and David Moore are not impressed.

Returning to their restaurants, the couples wait and hope their food demonstrations have pulled in some new customers. Raymond finds out how they are faring sooner than they expect as he makes his decision as to which three will go through to tomorrow night's challenge.
