Graham Capelli, a cult TV star from the Eighties, has the chance of a second burst of glory in Australia, but needs a health check before he goes, as the drama set in a Midlands medical centre continues.

After seeing Mike at the surgery, he is determined to prove how fit he is but ends up injuring himself. When Graham ends up back at the surgery, Mike discovers the second chance of fame is actually a ruse set up by Graham's wife to make him feel wanted again.

Meanwhile, it's the day of Nick's funeral, and everyone attends except for Mike, who stays at the Mill. The funeral is not what they were expecting, as Caroline explains that Nick wanted a touch of glamour. Back at the Mill, Mike offers to take Michelle to Blackpool for a few days. She tries to play it cool before accepting.

Later, Ronnie tries to reassure Jimmi, who guesses that Eva is on a job and is anxious about her. Eva, meanwhile, realising that Jack is less likely to open up to her because of her relationship with Ronnie, tells him that it's all over between them as she has discovered he is married. This cheers Jack up and he sacks a relieved Ronnie.

Graham Capelli is played by special guest star Sylvester McCoy, Mike by James Carlton, Caroline by Rae Baker, Michelle by Donnaleigh Bailey, Ronnie by Sean Gleeson, Jimmi by Adrian Lewis Morgan, Eva by Angela Lonsdale and Jack by James Gaddas.

Valentine Warner continues his search for the best food around
Valentine Warner continues his
search for the best food around

Autumn is prime time for game and this week chef and culinary adventurer Valentine Warner goes in search of venison, partridge and duck.

Valentine reckons that venison is the quintessential autumn meat and that it benefits from being cooked simply. To make a venison pie, he travels to the Ardlussa Estate on the remote island of Jura, in Scotland's Western Isles, which is home to one of the last pure breeds of red deer.

With deer outnumbering the islanders 25-1, Valentine is sure to see a stag, but hunting one is not quite as easy. He enlists the help of expert Ewen MacInnes, who has 18 years' experience of deer stalking on Jura.

The partridge is juicier than pheasant and, says Valentine, it's a good choice for those who aren't partial to birds with a gamey twang. He searches out the best ingredients for raz el hanout, a heady mix of spices and seeds popular in Moroccan cooking. He goes spice shopping in London's Portobello Road, sources the best early season partridge and visits a chef in a Moroccan restaurant for some spice advice.

Valentine says duck is an incredibly versatile bird, and as the shooting season started on 1 September, he is excited at the prospect of crispy skin, plump livers, grilled hearts, juicy breast and luxurious fat. He visits one of southern England's biggest game suppliers, along with a gamekeeper who sources early-season duck, and cooks a delicious dish of mallard with puy lentils and chanterelle mushrooms.

Amazon With Bruce Parry Ep 5/6
Monday 13 October
9.00-10.00pm BBC TWO
www.bbc.co.uk/amazon

Bruce Parry continues his epic journey along the Amazon by discovering what life is like at a gold mine.

Despite the mine's illegal status, an entire town, Grota Rica (rich grotto), has grown up around it as people try to strike it lucky. Even though the town's multi-tasking landlady – a woman who is also a prospector, a mechanic and owner of the town's water works – is finding it tough to pay the bills, hope springs eternal that some day a big nugget will be found, finally giving a lucky miner the means to make a better life.

The flip side is the worst environmental damage Bruce has yet found. It's not just in the destruction of the forest around the mine; its muddy pollution clouds the once pristine river and can fundamentally change the eco-system.

Bruce goes on to meet a team of 1,000 scientists, but can they convince the world that the Amazon is worth more alive than dead?

Building on more than 10 years of film-making excellence, BBC Four's multi-award-winning international documentary strand, Storyville, returns to enthral and entertain with a season of six definitive stories from around the world.

With a new dedicated Monday slot at 10pm, the autumn run kicks off with Roman Polanski – Wanted And Desired, which offers an insightful re-opening of an infamous case.

Admired and respected as one of the world's great film directors, Polanski's reputation has been for ever tarnished by his public conviction for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old, some 30 years ago, and by his subsequent flight from the United States to avoid going to jail.

In her riveting reopening of this controversial and very complex case, film-maker Marina Zenovich fashions a perceptive and intelligent exploration of what really happened, and casts a very different light on Polanski's decision as well as the workings of the American legal system.

Revisiting all of the key players – the victim, the lawyers and the media – the film looks at the conduct of the judge, whose handling of the case was definitely unusual. In addition, this compelling documentary incorporates insightful interviews from the present. Storyville – Roman Polanski: Wanted And Desired brings new comprehension and clarity to events long clouded by myths and presumptions.
