DCI Scott Vaughan (Oliver Milburn) is not prepared
to hold back this week
The officers of Holby South find themselves in the line of fire when a number of hoax 999 calls lure them to a destination where a lone sniper lies in wait, as Tony Jordan's pacy police drama concludes. Not prepared to hold back until HQ investigates, DCI Scott Vaughan dispatches his CID team to find out who wants to take them out.
Things go from bad to worse for birthday girl Kelly when she is asked to view CCTV footage of a nightclub robbery. She sees her husband in a clinch with another woman and, as Kelly's life crumbles around her, Neil ends up providing more than a shoulder to cry on.
Meanwhile, Christian's relationship with Miranda is going from strength to strength and she accepts an invitation to Kelly's birthday party. However, when she finds a stash of drugs at her flat, will she give in to temptation?
While John races to find out the identity of the sniper, his wife, Kate, is unaware that John's violent father is lying in wait for her at home. She arrives to find him sitting in the kitchen and it is clear that he hasn't come round for a cosy, family chat.
Back at Holby South, the team is slowly piecing together the evidence in the sniper investigation and the identity of the gunman is revealed. However, Jake and Lucy have already responded to a call-out and they head straight into the gunman's lair.

Maurice's check-up at the doctors doesn't quite go as planned when the doctor has a heart attack, in the final episode of William Ivory's popular comedy drama series. Syd, who is lingering in the waiting room, frantically drives Maurice and the doctor to hospital.
Once home, Maurice determines to take his health more seriously – but his plans to chill out for a while are marred by an irate Barbara. Grace's very valuable violin has been stolen and she wants Maurice to get it back. Now.
Meanwhile, Syd is harbouring a secret. He was at the doctor's for an appointment of his own, not just to support Maurice. But Syd's way of handling bad news is to get drunk, so he hooks up with his wayward son, Joe, and together they go on an all-day bender.
So, just when Maurice needs Syd to do a raid on the local music shop to retrieve Grace's violin, Syd is paralytic. Hedley is furious that they are going to do a job with Syd in that state, but Maurice is adamant that they need him. Unsurprisingly, the job does not go well and the gang are in danger of being caught red-handed. Struggling to find a way out, Maurice – the strategist – thinks that maybe it would be easier if they surrendered. They're old and decrepit and shouldn't be putting themselves under this stress. Syd can't believe his ears and, in an emotional bid to get through to Maurice, he reveals his secret...
Maurice is shaken back to reality and, with the help of Barbara, Young Nick, Helen and Joe, the gang pull off an explosive getaway.
Anthony Head is Maurice, Warren Clarke is Syd, Jenny Agutter is Barbara, Darren Tighe is Joe, Dean Lennox Kelly is Hedley, Paul Barber is Young Nick and Mina Anwar is Helen.
