Vivien (Anita Carey) goes into battleaxe mode after a nightmare journey to work
Vivien (Anita Carey) goes into
battleaxe mode after a
nightmare journey to work

Ruth is given a lift to work by Davey in the first of this week's visits to the Midlands health centre. All seems quite sweet between the two of them, but it's slightly odd as Davey walks her to the door and clearly has her keys. He opens the surgery for her, kisses her cheek and goes off to work.

Ruth then spends her day helping a desperate young pregnant girl who is currently living rough. It becomes apparent that the young mum-to-be is hiding from someone, and she eventually reveals that she is acting as a surrogate mum and has run away from the family when the relationship broke down.

Meanwhile, Vivien has a nightmare journey to work due to problems with the bus service and goes into full battleaxe mode, spending most of the day trying to make a complaint.

Elsewhere, Eva has spent the weekend with Jimmi, prompting the conversation about her moving back in. Because Eva is unnerved by his bachelor-pad décor, Jimmi tells her that she can change anything if she agrees to move in. When he gets home, he discovers that she takes him at his word.

Ruth is played by Selina Chilton, Davey by Gavin Bell, Vivien by Anita Carey, Eva by Angela Lonsdale and Jimmi by Adrian Lewis Morgan.

Poppy (Katherine Hicks, right)
and Peta (Daisy Betts) make a
surprise announcement

DS Wilson questions Stavva as to why he was at The Point the previous night, role-playing some kind of fight with Addo, as the Australian drama series centred on a murder at a beach resort school reunion continues. He asks whether Stavva was showing Addo how he killed Philby. Stavva denies that was what was happening, while protecting Addo's secret.

Then, after he makes a narrow escape from being pursued by thugs, Stavva is convinced that Daniel McManus is involved.

Meanwhile, Gabby is floored when Paul arrives at the first day of school dressed in school uniform. At his dad Ron's encouragement, he's decided to repeat his final year. Oblivious to Gabby and Paul's relationship, Ron arranges to have Paul moved into Gabby's class, increasing Gabby's feelings of discomfort.

Elsewhere, Poppy and Peta make a surprise announcement at their farewell drinks.

DS Wilson is played by Shane Withington, Stavva by Ryan Johnson, Addo by Daniel Henshall, Daniel by Aidan Gillett, Gabby by Sophie Katinis, Paul by Nathaniel Buzolic, Ron by Noel Hodda, Poppy by Katherine Hicks and Peta by Daisy Betts.

Grace (Sue Johnston) believes there are ritual elements to a body's disposal
Grace (Sue Johnston) believes
there are ritual elements to a
body's disposal

Boyd and the team investigate a body found in a disused tunnel, originally built by road protestors, in the penultimate two-part story of the current six-part series. The burial has ritual elements and the team manages to trace the murder to a group of middle-aged men on a self-empowerment weekend, led by a self-appointed American guru.

The body in the disused tunnel is identified as Chris Dearden, an air-conditioning salesman who went missing in 1996, and Eve tells the team that Dearden was murdered by blows to the head.

Boyd and Grace break the news of the discovery of the body to Dearden's wife, Lucy, who admits that she was having an affair at the time with landscape gardener Frank Monk, and they are still together. Meanwhile, Dearden's son Jimmy, 19, refuses to believe the body is that of his father, telling Boyd that his father had been working in Africa. Grace believes there are ritual elements to the disposal of Dearden's body.

Later, Eve gives Boyd devastating news concerning his son, Luke.

The concluding episode of Wounds is screened tomorrow.

Trevor Eve is Boyd, Ian Dunn is Chris Dearden, Tara FitzGerald is Eve, Sue Johnston is Grace, Julia Ford is Lucy Dearden, Ralph Ineson is Frank Monk and Robert Boulter is Jimmy Dearden.

Great British Menu
Monday 12 May
6.30-7.00pm BBC TWO
www.bbc.co.uk/food

It's the final week of regional heats in Great British Menu and, this week, it's the turn of two top chefs from London and the South East to impress the judges with their culinary skills. With a fertile agricultural landscape and more restaurants than any other area of Britain, competition to represent this region is certainly going to be tough.

The first chef hoping to secure a place in the final is Jason Atherton. Jason has classical training and experience of cooking abroad in places such as Spain and Dubai and, as such, feels that he exemplifies 21st-century British cooking.

However, Jason faces stiff competition in the form of Atul Kochhar. Atul has won the London and South East heats in both previous series of Great British Menu with his fusion of authentic Indian influences and local British ingredients and is certainly prepared to do what he can to make it to his third successful final. The forks, spoons and knives are out – but who will triumph and go forward to the Gherkin and glory?

The narrator is Jennie Bond.
