Eva (Angela Lonsdale) is on the
hunt for a hit-and-run driver

While Melody helps a couple troubled by the husband's alcoholism, Eva is on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver and her path leads her to The Mill after the husband's organic delivery van gives him away, as the Midlands-based medical drama continues.

Ruth starts a training day with Vivien and finds it tough going, but the encouragement from everyone else helps put her at ease. During the day, Vivien appears to be losing patience with Ruth as she doesn't seem to be "up to standards", but is secretly proud when she witnesses Ruth stand up to a bullish Eva. By the end of the day, Vivien is forced to admit that Ruth has "potential".

Later, Nick manages a slow walk to the Icon Bar. However, his celebrations are short-lived as the first person he sees is Ronnie. After an awkward exchange, Ronnie leaves, telling Nick they can never be friends again.

Melody is played by Elizabeth Bower, Eva by Angela Lonsdale, Ruth by Selina Chilton, Vivien by Anita Carey, Nick by Michael McKell and Ronnie by Sean Gleeson.

News of yesterday's death travels to the victim's family and friends, as the drama set in an Australian beach resort continues.

The morning following the reunion, Bec and Jarrod are shocked when they wake up beside each other on the beach. Bec trudges home, performing the walk of shame in last night's clothes, and is sprung by Poppy. While Bec remains tight-lipped, Tracy becomes increasingly suspicious of Jarrod's whereabouts the previous night.

News of the death is conveyed and the gang gathers around the dead body, identifying him and answering initial questions from the police. No one saw the victim go swimming and, although he had a reputation for being an adrenalin jockey, everyone is in shock.

Meanwhile, the victim's family is informed of the death by police.

When Addo wakes up worse for wear, he discovers a mysterious note from a visitor the previous night that he cannot recall. As Addo is oblivious to recent events, Lucia tells him about the death. Addo begins to panic as he realises last night is a complete blank – he cannot remember a thing. This concern is exacerbated when Addo runs into a mate who tells him that he and the victim were enjoying a wild night into the small hours of the morning.

Detective Sergeant Simon Wilson announces to the group that the death was no accident; following a preliminary autopsy, it appears that the victim died from a blow to the head. DS Wilson's job now is to find out who the murderer is.

Bec is played by Renai Caruso, Jarrod by Clayton Watson, Poppy by Katherine Hicks, Tracy by Charlotte Gregg, Addo by Daniel Henshall, Lucia by Basia A'Hern and DS Wilson by Shane Withington.

BBC TWO Wednesday 30 April 2008
Dan Cruickshank's Adventures In Architecture Ep 5/8
Wednesday 30 April
9.00-10.00pm BBC TWO

Connections is the theme of this week's Adventures In Architecture as Dan Cruickshank sets out to discover how people live together across the globe, in the fifth episode of his landmark architecture series.

On his travels to Mumbai, New York, Brazil and Damascus, Dan encounters vibrant communities and asks why some succeed and others fail.

Dan's visit to Brazil takes him to Brasilia, a city built by communists which is now the preserve of the super-rich. In the Middle East he visits Damascus, said to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. Here, Dan attempts to unravel the secrets of its longevity.

The Rockefeller Center in New York is one of the city's most famous skyscrapers. Dan asks how a building which was born out of the American Depression became a "city within a city". And, by contrast, he explores Dharavi in Mumbai. The biggest slum in India, and a functioning home to millions, it is now under threat of demolition.
