Programme Information

Information for journalists

Publication times

BBC Programme Information is published on Thursdays (TV) and Fridays (Radio), more than two weeks before transmission.

We aim to publish by lunchtime where possible.

Publication dates may be brought forward at certain times, for instance, in the run-up to Christmas. See Christmas 2009 publication dates.

BBC Week numbers

Please note that this year the BBC has 53 programme weeks – our Week 53 will be Saturday 27 December to Friday 2 January. For some broadcasters this will be Week 1.

Therefore BBC Week numbers throughout 2009 will differ from those of other broadcasters.

We are making changes to the BBC Picture Publicity and BBC Press Office websites so that we refer to "BBC Week Numbers" and, wherever possible, actual dates.

We will also reflect this in email correspondence and telephone conversations with you.

A selection of images for each week is available at www.bbcpictures.com for media use only.
