Golf – Walker Cup

Live event/outside broadcast
Saturday 10 September
2.15-4.30pm BBC ONE

Hazel Irvine presents live coverage of the 43rd Walker Cup, in which the best amateur golfers from Great Britain and Ireland take on the USA.

This year's renewal could also feature a star of the future in the shape of England's Tom Lewis, who caused a sensation at this year's Open Championship, sharing the lead after the first round, and going on to win the silver medal for the leading amateur.

The live coverage continues on BBC Two, from 4.30-6.15pm.

Hazel Irvine presents live coverage of the final day on Sunday 11 September.

Strictly Come Dancing Launch

Saturday 10 September
6.10-7.15pm BBC ONE and BBC ONE HD (Schedule addition 31 August)

It's time for BBC One to slip on its dancing shoes once again, as Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly welcome Strictly Come Dancing back to add some sparkle to Saturday nights. In tonight's special red carpet launch show, the star line-up will discover for the first time who their professional partners will be.

After facing the flash-bulbs on the red carpet, celebrities will take to the dance floor for the first time and perform a routine as a whole group in front of a studio audience.

There will also be a spectacular group routine performed by the professional dancers – including new male dancer Pasha Kovalev, making his debut in the Strictly glitterball spotlight.

Returning to lend their expert opinions are the fearsome foursome – head judge Len Goodman, and fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

As they take their first dance steps towards the coveted trophy, who will make the best first impression on the judges and the public? It's time for the battle of the ballroom to get under way.

Strictly Come Dancing is simulcast on the BBC ONE HD channel.

Live 'n' Deadly Ep 1/10

Live event/outside broadcast New
Saturday 10 September
9.00-9.55am BBC TWO and CBBC

Action adventurer Steve Backshall and children's TV favourite Naomi Wilkinson are back for the new series of Live 'n' Deadly, the live and unpredictable Saturday morning show which proves you don't have to travel around the world to enjoy amazing adventures or animal encounters.

Every week, Steve and Naomi bring the Live 'n' Deadly trucks to a different UK destination to present their 60-minute show, crammed full of challenges, dares, animals and adventure.

Live ‘n’ Deadly hits the water as the first in the new series splashes out in true deadly style. This week, Naomi and Steve will go head to head with some fearsome looking creatures. Deadly reptiles are set to be put to the test and there’s sure to be plenty of snappy action on the show from some visiting crocs.

World freestyle kayaking champion James Bebbington drops in to show his skills on the water and a whole raft of champions put Steve to the test.

And the fun doesn't stop when the programme finishes. Every Sunday, the team head to a UK venue for a Deadly Day Out, giving viewers the chance to get up close and personal with British wildlife, try a new adventure, and meet Steve, Naomi and a curious collection of deadly animals.

There's more Deadly action online too. Last year, Deadly Dash was one of CBBC's most popular games and we're back with Deadly Dash 2, Deadly Scramble and one of our most ambitious games ever – Deadly Planet – in which users can track and film Deadly animals around the world, then spot secret codes on TV, online and in the real world to unlock bonus levels and power-ups in the game.
