Waking The Dead – Waterloo: Part 2 Ep 10/10

Monday 11 April
9.00-10.00pm BBC ONE

In the final ever episode of Waking The Dead, Boyd returns to the torture chamber to find Nicholson is already there – grimly accepting that he indeed let the killer go all those years ago. Nicholson thinks Jason Heath is the culprit, but Grace is not convinced.

As the investigation continues, Sarah has gone astray and the team are forced to report her missing. When Sarah's abandoned car is discovered her disappearance causes increasing concern for her welfare.

Nicholson tells Boyd to stay focused on the M11 murders – he'll deal with Sarah's disappearance. The team grow ever more suspicious of him, and Grace joins Spencer and Boyd at Boyd's house to discuss Nicholson's involvement, while Eve starts processing Sarah's car. They know Nicholson's protecting the killer, but can't understand why.

Eve contacts Boyd about a blood sample in Sarah's car, but Nicholson seems to be constantly one step ahead of them as the sample disappears before Eve can test it. Nicholson tells Boyd his investigation has failed. He offers Boyd his job back if he frames Jason Heath for the murder of his father. Boyd plays along; but just as the team is making headway a murdered body is found at Boyd's home and he is arrested. Does Boyd have any more moves available against this deadliest of foes? And who is the new victim in this devastating final case?

Det Supt Peter Boyd is played by Trevor Eve, Tony Nicholson by Paul McGann, Jason Heath by Dorian Lough, Dr Grace Foley by Sue Johnston, Supt Sarah Cavendish by Eva Birthistle, DI Spencer Jordan by Wil Johnson and Eve Lockhart by Tara FitzGerald.

A Home For Maisie

Monday 11 April
9.00-10.00pm BBC TWO

Seven-year-old Maisie wants to be adopted. Like many children who are taken into care, she experienced neglect and abuse in her early years which left her feeling confused and angry. Maisie has had many mother figures in her life – several families wanted to adopt her but found it too difficult and she ended up back in care.

Maisie's luck changed when she met an extraordinary couple who have already successfully adopted eight extremely troubled kids. They hope they can help Maisie to overcome her traumatic past and want to give her the kind of childhood that all children deserve. But they're worried that she may be so damaged by her past experiences that even they won't be able to make it work.

They're pinning their hopes on a course of long-term therapy with Family Futures, a unique adoption support agency that specialises in treating the most damaged children in the system. Family Futures have a 95 per cent success rate and, working with expert parents Jim and Sue, they plan to help Maisie to confront and hopefully come to terms with some painful and traumatising early memories. Together they think they can help Maisie overcome her angry feelings and learn to accept Jim and Sue as her parents. If they succeed, Jim and Sue hope to be able to adopt Maisie in a year's time, but if they fail she will end up back in care.

Over 12 months A Home For Maisie follows the family's journey, documenting the many obstacles Jim and Sue must overcome in their bid to give Maisie the permanency she so badly needs.

Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville) wants the best candidate for the job

There are only three applicants for the post of Curator of the Cultural Olympiad, so how difficult can it be select the best candidate? As Ian Fletcher and his team find out, it's almost impossible, as the comedy following the challenges – both personal and professional – faced by the Olympic Deliverance team continues.

Forced to change their decision twice by outside bodies who insist that the last thing they want to do is interfere, they're pushed inexorably towards the one candidate they all agree they don't want.

As if that wasn't enough, their ultimate boss, Sebastian Coe, has decided that it would be good for the profile of Twenty Twelve if members of the Deliverance Team entered this year's London Marathon.

Meanwhile, as the pressure on Ian as Head of Deliverance gradually increases, the cracks in his marriage are starting to get wider and wider. Could this possibly mean that the secret hopes of his ever-loyal PA Sally might move closer to fulfilment?

Leonardo – Anything Is Possible Ep 1/13

New series

Akemnji Ndifornyen, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Jonathan Bailey and Colin Ryan star in Leonardo
Akemnji Ndifornyen, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Jonathan Bailey and Colin Ryan star in Leonardo

Viewers are invited to step back in time as the most brilliant mind of the past 500 years bursts onto CBBC. Leonardo, an action-packed new drama series full of mystery, adventure and an unfolding love story, follows the teenage Leonardo da Vinci and his friends: the street-smart and razor-sharp Machiavelli; Lisa, the subject of the world's most famous painting; and Lorenzo de' Medici, son of the foremost banking dynasty in Italy. Together, these fabulous four define the modern world.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of 15th-century Florence, Leonardo is far from a typical period drama. It's fast-paced with modern music and language, and a fashion sense that is more high street than high culture.

At the heart of the show is the young Leonardo da Vinci. Working as an apprentice, he's not just a free-thinking genius; he's also an unstoppable creative force who's always 10 steps ahead.

The series opens with a double bill. In Anything Is Possible, Leonardo has a new invention: the world's first bicycle, which he calls "a velocerotor". He takes his new machine out for a spin but his first ride comes to a crashing finish at the feet of a young street artist named Tom, who soon lands himself a place with Leonardo at Verrocchio's workshop. When the gang discover Tom has stolen Leonardo's notebook, he insists he was forced to steal the book by a sinister secret society called the Luminari. Hunting for the Luminari in the shadowy catacombs unveils a new secret that could destroy Tom's dreams and Verrocchio's reputation. It's up to the gang to decide what becomes of Tom, and to carry on the hunt for Leo's lost designs... but the ruler of the Luminari is closer than they think.

Leonardo is played by Jonathan Bailey, Machiavelli by Akemnji Ndifornyen, Lisa by Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Lorenzo by Colin Ryan and Verrocchio by James Cunningham.

Leonardo – Da Vinci's Code Ep 2/13

Monday 11 April
5.45-6.15pm CBBC

Piero, played by Alistair McGowan, has got his hands on Leonardo's notebook, as the action-packed new drama series following the teenage Leonardo da Vinci and his friends in 15th-century Florence continues. But that just presents him with another obstacle to his plans – the notebook is written entirely in code. He gives the task of decoding to Professor Pico, equations expert, Luminari member – and Lorenzo's maths tutor.

When Leo discovers that Pico is linked to the theft, Pico manages to convince Leonardo that he is merely a victim of the murderous Luminari's schemes and begs him to reveal the secret of his code. Will Leonardo realise in time that the Professor is far more dangerous than he seems?
