Rev Adam (Tom Hollander) attempts to launch a media career this week
Rev Adam (Tom Hollander) attempts to launch a media career this week

Adam succumbs to envy when he hears an old rival on Thought For The Day, as the contemporary sitcom continues. But his own attempts to make a career of his vocation spectacularly backfire. An ill-advised comment on The One Show about homosexuality within the Church results in orders from the Archdeacon to take media instruction from the very vicar Adam was trying to out-do.

And, while Adam neglects his pastoral duties in favour of climbing the greasy pole, Colin looks for meaning outside of St Saviour's, swapping strong lager for other routes to oblivion in order to dabble in the Rastafarian religion.

Tom Hollander plays the Rev Adam Smallbone. The cast also includes Olivia Colman as Alex Smallbone, Steve Evets as Colin Lambert, Miles Jupp as Nigel McCall, Lucy Liemann as Ellie Pattman, Simon Mcburney as Archdeacon Robert and Ellen Thomas as Adoha Onyeka.

Rev is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC's High Definition channel, available through Freesat 108, Freeview 50, Sky 143 and Virgin 108.
