For the two remaining finalists, it's the toughest challenge yet. They have just three days to create and brand a new box of chocolates with original flavours before launching them to an audience of more than 100 industry experts.

With the ultimate prize of working with Sir Alan now tantalizingly close, the stakes could not be higher. Living With Monkeys – Tales From The Treetops Ep 1/2

9.00-10.00pm BBC ONE

A BBC team get an intimate view of Gabon's rarely seen red-capped mangabeys

Primatologist Dr Julie Anderson and writer and adventurer Guy Grieve scale new heights as they explore one of the most inaccessible habitats on Earth in search of an elusive monkey.

Their home for six weeks is a specially constructed tree-house, high above Gabon's rainforest floor. It's a safe haven from the hippos, crocodiles, forest buffaloes and elephants who roam the forest.

From her precarious perch, Julie aims to study the rare, red-capped mangabey monkeys. Guy's task is to keep house by utilising all his survival experience – from digging the latrine to fishing for food and constructing a rainwater harvesting device.

Wildlife cameraman Gavin Thurston, a veteran of numerous David Attenborough series, is also on hand to capture the incredible variety of animal action and observe Julie and Guy as they adjust to their new treetop habitat.

They quickly discover that life in the jungle is a huge challenge when, on the first night, Guy discovers a huge, venomous centipede crawling beside his bed. And, on the forest floor, Gavin draws on all his filming experience when he is charged by an elephant.

Despite the hardships, Julie's dogged determination pays off. After days of tracking the mangabeys, she locates their main feeding zone and with a thermal imaging camera captures the first ever footage of the species sleeping in the wild.

Living With Monkeys – Tales From The Treetops Ep 2/2

Wednesday 10 June
9.00-10.00pm BBC ONE

Primatologist Dr Julie Anderson and writer and adventurer Guy Grieve continue their adventure in the African rainforest as they study one of the world's rarest and little-known species of monkey – the red-capped mangabey.

Julie takes to the trees to get a primate's eye view of the world, sleeping 60-feet above the forest in a special tree hammock. Meanwhile, Guy learns more about one of the jungle's most dangerous yet threatened animals, the forest elephant. He and a local scientist get a little too close for comfort to a mother and her calf, and are forced to beat a hasty retreat as she tells them in no uncertain terms to keep their distance. "I've been in a lot of wild places, and you've got to trust your instincts. The moral of the story is, if it roars, you leave," says Guy.

Julie braves flooded roads to reach the national park, where a fellow primatologist is studying gorillas. There's a nerve-wracking encounter as a big male silverback gorilla approaches her, barking loudly. "You really get a sense of your own vulnerability in these moments," she says, as the huge gorilla disappears back into the forest.

Guy continues his investigation into the plight of the largest land mammal, the elephant. He meets an anti-poaching officer who shows him confiscated ivory and the gruesome traps and snares that are used to kill the animals.

On Julie's final morning in the forest, she gets closer to the mangabey monkeys than ever before. "We've been at this for weeks," she says. "Finally, I've got mangabeys right above my head, totally relaxed." All her hard work has paid off; she has earned the monkeys' trust.

Hope Springs Ep 1/8

(L-R) Sian Reeves, Alex Kingston, Christine Bottomley and Vinette Robinson star in Hope Springs

Following the fortunes of Ellie, Hannah, Shoo and Josie, Hope Springs, starring Alex Kingston, Sian Reeves, Christine Bottomley and Vinette Robinson, is a quirky and funny new drama for BBC One about four fabulous ex-cons trying to go straight.

It is a sparklingly modern fish-out-of-water comedy-drama about losing millions, falling in love in unlikely places and chasing your dreams. But, most of all, it's about finding a real family among friends.

When the girls' long-held plan to start a new life in Barbados – courtesy of £3m stolen from Ellie's gangster husband, Roy – goes awry, they find themselves in hiding in a remote Scottish village called Hope Springs.

Their escape plans in tatters and Roy's vengeful hit man, Marius, hot on their heels, the girls stumble across what seems like the perfect hideaway – a ramshackle Scottish hotel run by cantankerous elderly local woman Sadie Cairncross.

Knowing they need to become "legit" if they're ever going to realise their Caribbean dream, Ellie decides the gang should buy the Hope Springs Hotel as cover. The other women are horrified. And they're not the only ones with doubts.

Sadie's pushy pregnant daughter, Ann Marie, is less-than-impressed by the newcomers, as is local lawyer Euan Harries and his hot-headed son, Ronan. To make matters worse, the girls find themselves attracting unwanted police attention from local DI Gil Cameron, Ann Marie's fiancé.

Fearing the locals will revolt against their plans to shut down the hotel and lie low, the girls are forced to run Hope Springs as a legitimate business. A moody Shoo isn't happy until handsome local lad Dean McKenzie catches her eye. Suddenly life doesn't look so bad after all.

But when an argument breaks out between arch enemies Ronan and Dean, the girls are shocked to discover their Scottish hideaway is home to an ongoing murder investigation. However, it is a mysterious fire that well and truly puts paid to their plans to escape to the sunshine...

Ellie is played by Alex Kingston, Hannah by Sian Reeves, Shoo by Christine Bottomley, Josie by Vinette Robinson, Roy by Mark Frost, Marius by Clint Dyer, Sadie Cairncross by Annette Crosbie, Ann Marie by Ronni Ancona, Euan Harries by Alec Newman, Ronan by Tony McGeever and Dean McKenzie by Richard Madden.

Hope Springs is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC's High Definition channel available through Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media.
