About The Voice UK
Worldwide phenomenon The Voice is developed by Dutch media entrepreneur John de Mol's company Talpa.
The Voice UK will see four critically acclaimed recording artists seek out the nation's best vocal talent. With looks playing no role in the selection process, the coaches will be purely looking for contestants that boast genuinely amazing voices, even at the audition stage. There's no room for comedy performances or people who rely on looks to get them through – this is the first talent show that focuses on what really matters when you're a singer; it's all about the voice! The format features three key stages: the unique Blind Auditions, the Battle Rounds and the Live Performances.
Worldwide phenomenon The Voice has already been sold to 30 countries within one year of its launch as The Voice of Holland (the No.1 series on RTL4). In the USA, the show became a huge hit on NBC, with Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine as its coaches. It captured a peak audience of 14.4 million, attracting critical acclaim for the NBC network and a huge buzz across the music industry. And now, The Voice UK is now set to become the BBC's new entertainment phenomenon of 2012.
