Just when you thought it was safe to walk down Montego Street, Lenny Murdoch is back in River City. Last seen secretly following his wife Lydia as she left for a new life away from her villainous husband, Lenny returns to try and make amends with daughter Amber and leave his crooked past behind him.
His arrival back is not going to go down well with the locals in Shieldinch, who were glad to see the back of Lenny. Not only that, but he has a lot of humble pie to swallow around his daughter, while getting to grips with her new boyfriend Fraser. It is not going to be an easy reunion for Lenny but an exciting storyline for fans of the show.
On returning to the cast Frank Gallagher says: "It'll be interesting to go back and see how much Lenny has changed and also to develop the character further. It'll be nice to catch up with the cast and in particular Lorna Anderson who plays Amber."
Executive Producer Gaynor Holmes says: "Lenny Murdoch is the River City character whom everybody loves to hate and we're absolutely thrilled to have him back. We've got loads of exciting storylines coming up in which we'll see Lenny wreaking his own very special brand of havoc around Shieldinch."
Lenny's dramatic return to Shieldinch will be on screen in June, over a year since his last appearance.
River City is broadcast on Tuesday evenings at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.
