6 Mix unveils autumn line-up

Digital radio station BBC 6 Music today announced a line-up of special guest DJs set to play this autumn on the network's specialist dance show 6 Mix (Sundays, 8-10pm).

Ben Watt, Erol Alkan and Derrick May are all set to return to the 6 Music airwaves plus Andrew Weatherall takes a closer look at Primal Scream's seminal LP Screamadelica, Neon Indian feature in a Chillwave special and new mixes come from the likes of Aeroplane and SBTRKT.

Ben Watt joins 6 Mix for a series of six shows exploring underground dance and electronic music past, present and future. Formerly half of Everything But The Girl and now head honcho of the Buzzin' Fly label and club night, Ben celebrated the label's 50th single release this year.

On joining 6 Mix Ben says: "I got lots of great feedback from the 6 Mix one-off special I did back in June, so it is a pleasure to be asked back for more. Expect the freshest and deepest night-time dancing music plus alt electronic pop, a few wild cards and some off-ramp classics."

After the success of his first residency, DJ and producer Erol Alkan returns for another series of six shows showcasing the cutting edge of upfront new electronic and alternative music.

Erol says: "The 6 Mix have been kind enough to give me full musical freedom, which means I can play whatever music I find genuinely exiting. From the latest club cuts right through to obscure psychedelic gems from the Sixties, my aim is to broadcast two hours of the best music you have probably never heard before."

Ben, Erol and Derrick join an illustrious list of DJs who have bought their skills to the 6 Mix including Orbital, The Orb, 2ManyDJs, Ninja Tunes and James Lavelle.

Ben Watt – 7 November
Erol Alkan – 14 November
Andrew Weatherall (Screamadelica special) – 21 November
