In the third year that Northern Ireland radio stations were eligible to enter the PPI Radio Awards in its nine-year history, Radio Ulster won two major awards at the ceremony, which took place at Lyrath House Hotel, Kilkenny on Friday night (2 October).
Radio Ulster picked up awards in the New Irish Music category won by ATL, presented by David 'Rigsy' O'Reilly, the second year the ATL team has won this award; and in the Irish Language category, the Blas team was named as overall winner.
Head of Radio Ulster, Susan Lovell, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the awards BBC Radio Ulster has won and congratulate the ATL and Blas teams on their success. These awards are a testament to the thought, commitment and dedication which go into making our programmes."
