BBC One announced today that Arlene Phillips will join The One Show.
Arlene will make her debut on The One Show later this year as the Strictly Come Dancing expert in the lead up to and across the 14-week run of the show, which airs in the autumn.
Jay Hunt, Controller, BBC One, said: "Arlene played a vital role in making Strictly a hit and I would like to thank her for all her work on the show.
"I am delighted she is now forging a new relationship with BBC One by joining the highly-successful The One Show team."
Arlene Phillips said: "I am delighted to be part of The One Show. I will miss Strictly. It has been a big part of my life for six years."
Doug Carnegie, Editor, The One Show, added: "The One Show's always had links with Strictly – Christine Bleakley and Dom Littlewood have both been contestants – so it's brilliant we'll still have an inside track on it this time with Arlene.
"She really knows her stuff. With six years of Strictly under her belt, she's a great addition to our line-up."
