Acclaimed Scottish music sensations Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Edwyn Collins and Roddy Frame will join forces at this year's T in the Park to bring a unique performance to BBC audiences.
The musicians will collaborate on the new BBC Three InTimate Stage on the first day of the festival, Friday 10 July. Song details have yet to be confirmed.
The stage's introduction offers BBC T in the Park armchair audiences an extra-special treat, featuring backstage acoustic performances and other unique collaborations between some of the acts featured at the festival, all filmed exclusively for the BBC audience.
Scots rockers Glasvegas will take to the stage to perform a cover version of The Ronettes' Be My Baby, and New Zealand singer and songwriter Ladyhawke will perform Magic, a track from her self-titled album. Fight Like Apes will be performing Something Global and Doves will hit the stage with the song Winter Hill.
A host of other top festival acts have been confirmed to deliver special acoustic performances on the BBC Three InTimate Stage, including Franz Ferdinand, Idlewild, Maximo Park, Paulo Nutini, James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers, Florence & the Machine, Ting Tings, Little Boots and Seasick Steve.
BBC Executive Producer Fiona White said: "We are extremely excited about the introduction of the BBC Three InTimate Stage as part of our T in the Park coverage this year.
"The acts who have already confirmed promise to bring top quality acoustic performances to be screened across the weekend – and we expect to announce even more as the event draws closer.
"Festival-goers can catch the performances after the event on our highlights programmes, the BBC iPlayer service, online and via the red button service."
The BBC's T in the Park coverage begins on Friday 10 July on BBC Three and BBC Scotland, and continues across the weekend.
BBC Three's coverage is hosted by Edith Bowman, Reggie Yates and Nick Grimshaw. Edith is joined by Vic Galloway on BBC Scotland, and Matt Edmondson will provide festival reports across all programmes.
You can also hear the collaboration between Alex Kapranos, Edwyn Collins and Roddy Frame by tuning in to Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland on Monday 13 July from 8.05pm.
BBC Alba will also be covering T in the Park with special shows including festival highlights as well as performances from the BBC Three InTimate stage. These shows will be broadcast on both Saturday and Sunday evenings between 6.00 and 7.30pm, presented by Calum MacAulay and Siobhan MacInnes.
Key music moments from this year's event will also feature on BBC Radio 1, Radio Scotland, online and interactive.
The popular red button service will be back with more choice than ever before, offering up to four different channels of performances from the festival. Digital viewers can access this service by pressing red whilst watching any BBC channel, and it is available on Friday evening and from late afternoon on Saturday and Sunday through until midnight each day.
Live video coverage, highlights and exclusive content will feature online at bbc.co.uk/tinthepark where performances will be available for a full week following the event.
