Viewers of analogue television sets in Todmorden will see a change to their normal regional TV news broadcasts from Friday (1 May 2009).
Historically the BBC has broadcast BBC North West Tonight to TV viewers in the Upper Calder Valley.
However transmitter changes next month mean that the estimated 3,600 homes in Todmorden still watching analogue television will now be receiving their regional news broadcasts from BBC Yorkshire.
The BBC's head of region in Yorkshire, Helen Thomas, said she hoped viewers would welcome the change.
She said: "We are confident that viewers in Todmorden will enjoy seeing the news from around Yorkshire during the regional broadcasts, and that they will enjoy watching our exceptional team of reporters and presenters. We are looking forward to broadcasting to this edge of Yorkshire."
The transmitter changes are in preparation for the switchover to digital television which takes place across the North West of England later this year and in Yorkshire during 2011.
Digital viewers will still be able to view North West Tonight by tuning into channel 955 on Freesat and channel 978 on Sky. The programme is also available on the internet.
