David Holdsworth, Controller, BBC English Regions, has completed his management team by announcing the appointment of three new Heads of Region to the English Regions Board.
Stuart Thomas is the new Head of Regional and Local Programmes (HRLP) in the East Midlands Region, based in Nottingham.
Stuart is an experienced and successful editorial leader who is currently the Editor of ITV's London News. His career includes spells as the Editor of LBC and of IRN News, as well as News Editor of Invicta Radio.
Jane McCloskey will be the new HRLP in the South-West, based at the BBC's broadcasting centre in Plymouth.
Jane has an impressive track record in television production and as a senior leader at ITV – she is the current Regional Director of ITV in the West and West Country.
David Lloyd takes on the role of HRLP for East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, based in Hull.
Most recently Programme and Marketing Director at Virgin Radio, David's career includes time spent as Managing Director of LBC, running the two Galaxy stations in the north of England and as a Director in the Radio Authority.
Announcing the appointments, David Holdsworth said: "These appointments bring with them a wealth of experience of senior editorial leadership and will bring new perspectives to the senior team.
"I am delighted to welcome them to the helm of English regions, home of the most popular news programmes in the UK."
