Peter Levy to host new show on Radio Humberside

TV presenter Peter Levy is to go back to his radio roots with his own daily show.

Peter – who will continue to front the popular weekday BBC Look North 6.30pm programme on BBC One – will also now host his own show from Monday to Friday, noon until 2.00pm, on BBC Radio Humberside starting Monday 10 November.

He said: "Radio is my first love, it's where I started, I am really looking forward to having my own show."

Managing Editor of Radio Humberside, Simon Pattern, said: "We are delighted that Peter will be joining us on BBC Radio Humberside and look forward to him bringing his own unique style to the station."

Simon confirmed the Peter Levy Show would be a topical news programme featuring the big stories of the day, interviews with top celebrities, politicians and those hitting the headlines, and weather from popular presenter Paul Hudson.

Listeners will get the chance to call in and comment on the issues of the day.

Peter said: "TV is quick and immediate whereas radio is much more intimate and gives you the chance to spend longer with guests and probe deeper. It's going to be fun."

Peter started his career as an actor on TV classics such as Dixon Of Dock Green, The Mike Yarwood Show, Comedy Playhouse and Man About The House.

His first stint on radio came in 1975 when he joined the original Pennine Radio in Bradford.

He has also worked on other stations in Merseyside and Yorkshire including BBC Radio Leeds.

He became a presenter on BBC Look North in 1987 and moved to Hull full time to front BBC Look North's 6.30pm programme six years ago.
