The 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics on the BBC



Olympics coverage on BBC TV


As Britain's Olympic and Paralympic broadcaster, the BBC holds exclusive terrestrial TV, radio, online, mobile and iPlayer rights in the UK.

 

Coverage includes several main strands across BBC One, BBC Two and BBC HD, as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and up to six additional streams of coverage available via interactive.

 

Full day-by-day listings (including interactive listings) will be available from bbc.co.uk/olympics.

The Olympics 8-24 August

Live coverage on BBCi

2.00am-6.00pm

There will be continuous live/as live coverage of the Games on BBCi throughout the night and day. With up to six streams to choose from the viewer will have more sports to select from than ever before.

8.00-9.00pm BBC Three

(live matches available on BBCi)

Jake Humphrey brings the best of the action from the final round of the men's preliminaries as well as the men's and women's quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

 

Olympics 2008

1.50-6.00am BBC One/BBC HD

(start times vary)

Rishi Persad and Clare Balding present live coverage of the swimming finals, athletics heats and a selection of the gymnastics finals.

 

Olympic Breakfast

6.00-9.00am BBC One/BBC HD

Hazel Irvine and Adrian Chiles start the day with a look at the main news from the day's events and some live coverage from the early afternoon's action in Beijing, also incorporating national and regional news and weather.

9.00am-noon BBC One/BBC HD

Hazel Irvine and Adrian Chiles present live coverage of the rowing, sailing and cycling.

12.00-12.45pm BBC Two/BBC HD

Sue Barker presents more live action from the Games, with coverage of the early athletics finals and swimming heats.

12.45-5.15pm BBC One/BBC HD

Sue Barker and Jake Humphrey present coverage of the athletics finals and the climax of the three-day eventing.

5.15-6.00pm BBC Two/BBC HD

Jake Humphrey brings more of the evening's action from the Games in Beijing.

 

Games Today

7.00-8.00pm BBC One/BBC HD

Gabby Logan presents a round-up of all the key moments from the day's competition. Gabby will welcome viewers home from work with all the news and views as well as reports on Team GB's progress. Having looked back over the day's main events, Gabby will look forward to the coming day's action.
