The cast of Greek: back L-R - Amber Stevens, Scott Michael Foster, Jake McDorman, Spencer Grammer, Paul James; front L-R - Clark Duke, Jacob Zachar, Dilshad Vadsaria

BBC Three goes GRΣΣK - first episode at 9.10pm, Sunday 25 May 2008

Greek is a sassy new 10-part American comedy-drama that comes to BBC Three this spring.

Students at the fictitious Cyprus Rhodes University invite you to the craziest parties and to hang out with the coolest crowd, as they take you through the ups and downs of college life.

Starting afresh in a new place and with new friends, the students discover that being accepted isn't all about belonging to the coolest crowd, but about discovering who you are through friendships, loyalty and relationships, and that making mistakes is all part of growing up.

Casey Cartwright is popular, beautiful, smart and has the perfect boyfriend to match – the wealthy, good-looking Evan Chambers. Casey's ambition is to become president of her university house, Zeta Beta Zeta, and she is determined not to let anything get in her way.

The arrival on campus of the scheming Rebecca Taylor, the rich daughter of a high-profile politician, threatens to jeopardise Casey's ascent to the top – and her relationship with Evan.

Casey's younger brother, Rusty, couldn't be more different from his sister, but he arrives at university determined to shake his geeky image and make the most of his student years.

He seeks some advice from his experienced sister, but will Casey's determination to make it to the top be at the expense of her loyalty to her brother?

As Rusty and Casey negotiate university life – with ex-boyfriends, love rivals, disapproving room mates and the small matter of studies to contend with – they begin to realise that the only thing they may be able to rely on is each other.

This ABC Family original series was acquired by Sue Deeks, Head of Series, BBC Programme Acquisition, and Danny Cohen, Controller, BBC Three.

Danny Cohen says: "Greek is a great new flavour to add to BBC Three's youthful new mix. I hope it will be much loved by our audiences."

Season one of Greek out-performed any other programmes on its debut in the US on ABC Family – in the 18 to 34-year-old age bracket.
