BBC to show Calzaghe Vegas victory

Viewers in the UK will have their first chance to see a re-run of Joe Calzaghe's victory on free-to-air television, on BBC Two this Sunday 27 April at 12noon.

Calzaghe, who was floored in the opening exchanges by boxing legend Bernard Hopkins' huge right hand, recovered to win a contentious split-decision victory.

Calzaghe stepped up to light heavyweight for the first time in Las Vegas and is now undefeated in 45 fights. His victory will almost certainly see him acclaimed as the finest boxer Britain has ever produced.

Calzaghe said: "It was one of the toughest fights of my career. I'm a legend killer – I just finished B-Hop, maybe Roy Jones is next."

The bout was watched by more than 14,000 fans from the boxing capital of the world – the majority of them Welsh – and a galaxy of celebrities, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Ronald McIntosh presents Calzaghe's debut American fight from Las Vegas. Jim Neilly commentates.
