BBC Three's revamp pulls in the young viewers
Share of young audiences up by 44% in one month
One month on, BBC Three's revamp is pulling in the young viewers. Huge growth in year-on-year young share, increased reach to younger viewers, increased multiplatform activity and a younger profile to the channel have all been achieved since 12 February 2008.
Headlines include:
- Share amongst 16-34s over the last month was 3.9% – a 44% rise from exactly the same time last year. This is the highest share for 16-34s amongst all digital channels.
- Weekly reach to 16-34s is up to 4.5 million, a 33% increase year-on-year (based on 3 minute reach). Revamp week recorded the highest weekly reach for the channel with 4.8 million/37.1%.
- BBC Three is younger, 41% of the audience are now aged 16-34, up by 14% year-on-year.
- One fifth of all the top 50 BBC iPlayer titles are BBC Three originations, with Dawn Gets Naked, Lily Allen And Friends and Being Human in the top 20.
- Being Human on the day after its first episode was the most requested programme on BBC iPlayer and Lily Allen And Friends, the 2nd most requested on BBC iPlayer, the day after its first episode.
- Lily Allen And Friends is now averaging 30,000 unique weekly users to its website.
- Amongst all individuals, BBC Three is reaching 14.1 million viewers, just under one in three people. This is the highest of all digital channels and is up by 27% year-on-year.

Notes to Editors
Based on 15 minute weekly reach for the 16 to 34-year-old audience, the channel is up by 40% year-on-year, at 3.5 million/21%.
Revamp week saw the highest 15 minute weekly reach for 16-34s (3.8 million/29.1%).
