BBC Four finds itself in a Tight Spot
Introduction
Brand new comedies on BBC Four, with Freezing, HR, Lift and Stuck, see the funny side of being in a Tight Spot, with star performances by Hugh Bonneville, Tom Hollander, Jonathan Pryce, Douglas Hodge, Siobhan Redmond and David Gillespie.
Comedy often happens when you least expect it: you could be stuck at home with your husband when you're both desperate to be at work; or when actually in work, you could be facing the sack; you could find yourself in a broken lift with a bunch of people you can't stand; or be stranded in a traffic jam with a colleague who winds you up.
Janice Hadlow, Controller, BBC Four: "This is a brilliant chance to showcase both new and established acting, production and writing talent on the channel, with four stand-out comedies that have a distinctive BBC Four flavour. Single dramas have worked fantastically well on the channel – now it's comedy's turn."
Scripts are written by James Wood, Nigel Williams, Mark Watson and Mark Warren.
Productions are produced by Kenton Allen and Simon Curtis, Jon Plowman, Beryl and Sue Vertue and Henry Normal and Lindsay Hughes.
The season begins on BBC Four with Freezing on Wednesday 28 February at 10.30pm, then HR on 7 March, followed by Lift on 14 March and finally Stuck on 21 March.
