Noreen Kershaw plays the quick-witted Phyllis
Phyllis is on the front-line when it comes to slinging suspects in the cells. She is a no-nonsense lady who, if she lived in 2007, would probably be described as a ballbreaker. But, in these times of overt sexism and bum pinching, Phyllis can give as good as she gets and demands the respect of her male colleagues.
Noreen has had a varied career in film, TV and theatre. Audiences will recognise her from Peak Practice, but she has also appeared in shows as wide-ranging as Watching, Young Indy, Alan Bleasdale's Jake's Progress, Coronation Street and Albion Market.
Tony Marshall plays Sam's "therapist" and barman Nelson
Nelson is the "Jamaican" bartender at the CID's local, but only Sam knows his secret – he is as Mancunian as they come.
Nelson is the man people go to for a drink and a chat. He offers his words of wisdom to an increasingly troubled Sam, and acts as his sound board for his theories as to how, and why, he has ended up in this alien world.
Tony is best known for playing Diesel in the BBC drama The Preston Front, but has appeared in many well-known TV shows such as Judge John Deed, Wing And A Prayer, The Queen's Nose and Only Fools And Horses.
Kevin R McNally plays Superintendent Harry Woolf
When Gene's superior and mentor, Superintendent Harry Woolf, arrives on the scene, he recognises much of himself in DI Sam Tyler. Soon to retire, he plans to go out with a bang by keeping an eye on Gene's latest case – a spate of armed robberies.
Known most recently as Pirate Joshamee Gibbs, in the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, Kevin's other film work includes Phantom Of Tthe Opera and Johnny English. His TV work includes Shackleton and Dunkirk.
