Choose greatest game of all time in Five Live's online vote

BBC Radio Five Live is inviting listeners to choose the greatest football match ever played to mark the 80th anniversary of football commentary.

The late Ferenc Puskas in one of Real Madrid's European Cup triumphs, England's World Cup win in 1966, Pele dazzling the World in 1970 and Liverpool's epic Champions League in Istanbul in 2005 all have merits, but what is the best ever match?

Last week on Five Live Sport a panel of Sir Trevor Brooking, Barry Davies and Steve Claridge decided a final ten from an initial 20 matches.

The shortlist is:

1967 European Cup final, Man Utd 4 Benfica 1

1982 World Cup Semi-Final, Italy 3 Brazil 2

2005 Champions League Final, Liverpool 3 AC Milan 3

1967 European Cup Final, Celtic 2 Inter Milan 1

1966 World Cup Final, England 4 West Germany 2

1953 FA Cup Final, Blackpool 4 Bolton 3

1960 European Cup Final, Real Madrid 7 Frankfurt 3

1970 World Cup Final, Brazil 4 Italy 1

1989 Division One title decider, Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2

2001 World Cup qualifier, Germany 1 England 5

From 2 January 2007 listeners can go to bbc.co.uk/fivelive and vote for their greatest ever game from the shortlist.
