BBC ONE presenter Nick Knowles has flown back to the UK to have emergency treatment after being injured whilst filming in northern Kenya.
Nick dislocated his shoulder when he fell off a Land Rover whilst filming a new BBC ONE series, Mission Africa.
After the accident, which took place on Wednesday, Nick was treated in a private hospital in Nairobi and has since flown back for treatment at St Thomas' Hospital in London.
Just hours after returning to the UK, Nick spoke to Nadia Sawalha on BBC ONE's City Hospital, a series which he previously fronted.
City Hospital comes live every weekday at 10.00am from St Thomas' hospital, where Nick is due to have an emergency operation tomorrow (16 September) to repair damage between his collar bone and shoulder blade.
Nick explained: "I fell off the top of a truck. I knocked myself out and dislocated my shoulder. I've basically separated my collar bone from my shoulder.
"We were 400 miles north of Nairobi in the middle of nowhere and they managed to get a small plane into a landing strip and take me out.
"The plane hit loads of turbulence and with my dislocated shoulder it was quite painful! The plane suddenly dropped and thumped and it actually re-located my shoulder, which made my eyes water a bit.
"I had a set of x-rays taken in Nairobi hospital, where they immunised me before I got on a plane to come back to England. They took some x-rays to see how my neck was and they were inconclusive.
"I've got really bad neck pains and headaches, but the doctors are convinced that's just really a matter of whiplash from hitting the floor from ten feet.
"Luckily I fell on my head, so that didn't do me any permanent damage!"
Ever the optimist, Nick added: "I'm in the middle of filming Mission Africa, so I'm hoping to be back on a plane on Tuesday!"
Mission Africa is a 15-part programme presented by Nick, to be broadcast on BBC ONE next year. The series sees 15 young building apprentices, selected from hundreds of applicants across the UK, travel to the middle of a desert in northern Kenya.
There they will work at an existing conservancy, which has no facilities, and will construct an eco lodge, refurbish community water supplies and retrain rangers, putting everything in place so that tourism can start.
