CBBC keeps it real on Saturday mornings
Reality TV comes to Saturday mornings on CBBC this September with TMi, an
exciting new entertainment show hosted by two of CBBC's favourite stars - Sam
Nixon and Mark Rhodes (aka Sam and Mark) - alongside newcomer, Caroline
Flack.
In perfect tune with the spirit of the show, and the language used by
young viewers, TMi is an abbreviation used in text messaging for
Too Much Information.
Fresh from the experience of their breakfast show Level Up, Sam and Mark welcome
the CBBC cameras into their customised flat where they'll be filmed night and
day as they plan the content of Saturday's show.
The footage from Sam and Mark's week in the flat will form part of the live show
on Saturday where they'll join Caroline in TMi's glass-fronted studio
overlooking London's Leicester Square for an energetic and stunt-filled start to the
weekend.
Caroline, who previously co-presented E4 coverage of The Games,
will also be joined by CBBC viewers and studio guests for a morning jam-packed
with games, competitions and surprises.
Whether Sam and Mark are answering the door to surprise celebrity guests, going head-to-head to complete tasks set by Caroline and the viewers, or coming up with games
for the show itself, they are in for a hectic and unpredictable week!
With cameras in every room, viewers will get a unique opportunity to see two of
their favourite presenters as they've never seen them before.
By going to
bbc.co.uk/cbbc they will be able to watch exclusive footage from the flat,
chat online with Sam and Mark, and even influence the action via
interactive votes.
Joe Godwin, Head of CBBC Entertainment, says: "We know our audience want to see
their favourite stars in unusual situations, and have some say in what goes on.
"So that's exactly what we're doing. This'll be life under the microscope, warts
and all, for Sam and Mark.
"Saturday mornings are very special to kids, and to
CBBC - and we think this show puts a really exciting spin on reality TV."
TMi also features Prank Patrol in which CBBC presenter Barney Harwood and his
Ninjas set out to help a joker pull off the prank of a lifetime on an
unsuspecting friend or relative. Hidden cameras capture the hilarious results.
Prank Patrol is based on a format produced by Apartment 11 Productions in
Montreal, Canada.
And TMi has The Secret Show, a brand new fast-paced comedy-adventure animation from Bafta-winning independent UK studio Collingwood O'Hare Entertainment.
In the animation two secret agents - Victor Volt and Anita Knight - save the world from exciting villains played by a host of celebrity guests.
Comedian and
EastEnders star Mike Reid plays Mr Atom, Little Britain narrator Tom Baker is as Robert Baron and Penelope Keith plays power-crazed Nanny Nana-Poo-Poo.
The show also features Felicity Kendal as Lucy Woo and Stephen Fry as The
Luckiest Man in the World.
TMi will simulcast on CBBC and BBC TWO on Saturday mornings and has been
commissioned by Anne Gilchrist, Creative Director, CBBC.
The Executive Producer
is Joe Godwin and the Series Producer is Jamie Rea.
TMi starts on Saturday 16 September 2006, 9.00-11.45am.
