Sinchronicity

Camille Coduri as Peggy

Sinchronicity

Camille Coduri plays Peggy

Peggy's a no-nonsense porn baroness who's made a career - and a fortune - out of catering for the titillatory tastes of women and couples.

She knows Nathan can be all mouth and no trousers, so she takes great joy in putting him in sticky work situations. With all the wonderful variety that the world of porn has to offer, there's never ending entertainment to be had at Nathan's expense.

Camille says: "I was first approached by Julie Gardner, executive producer for BBC Wales about Sinchronity. I got half-way through the first script and was absolutely hooked. The writing was so slick I knew immediately that I wanted to do it.

"Peggy struck me as a hard-nose businesswoman who is a bit of a bully towards her employees, particularly Nathan (Paul Chequer). She is also incredibly uninhibited about sex and the porn industry.

"Peggy seemed like a real challenge to play because she is the complete antithesis of me and so different from my other roles. It was quite invigorating to play her, I especially liked being able to get my own way all of the time as Peggy!

"Not much of Peggy's home life is given away in Sinchronicity, but I imagine that she is married to a bloke that she met on the game and now has a huge house in Cheshire.

"Throughout the series she is consistently hard, driven and unable to take no for an answer, but then I suppose you would have to be, working in such a male-dominated industry."

Camille Coduri is currently best known for her role as Jackie Tyler in the BBC ONE award-winning drama series Doctor Who.

Since then she has played the lead in the World Cup-themed ITV drama Pickles and starred in The Business, a film directed by Nick Love.

Before Doctor Who she starred as Faith in the 1990 film Nuns on the Run alongside Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane.

Her other television credits include the LWT drama Rumpole of the Bailey, Trial and Retribution, Family and A Touch of Frost.

Her theatre work includes What the Butler Saw at Wyndham's Theatre and Benefit at the Lyric Hammersmith.
