Jason Carter, Executive Producer of Live Music & Events, Radio 1, said: "Radio 1's Big Weekend has the most amazing line-up ever this year and with the extra capacity for 30,000 people it's going to be a great weekend in Dundee.

"We're really pleased that we're able to bring all this music to Scotland. If you can't make it down the live music will be on Radio 1 across the two days."

Dundee Lord Provost John Letford said: "The excitement and anticipation around Dundee about Radio 1's Big Weekend has been building since the city was confirmed as this year's venue.

"This will be a tremendous weekend for both Dundee and Radio 1, and the city will be the focus of massive national attention. There will be important spin-off benefits for the city and its vibrant music scene and the legacy of this event will have a positive impact for years to come."
