BBC THREE commissions Sinchronicity, a new Manchester-based drama

BBC THREE has commissioned Sinchronicity, a new six-part drama series from Shine. Sinchronicity revolves around Nathan and the sexual misadventures of a group of 20-somethings.

Set and filmed in Manchester, the plots hinge on peripheral moments that could prove crucial for strangers looking for love.

Written by Julian Jones (As If), Sinchronicity will be Executive Produced for Shine by Creative Director for Drama Julian Murphy and Head of Development, Johnny Capps (As If, Hex 1&2, Sugar Rush).

The show will be directed by Brian Grant, Executive Producers for BBC THREE are Julie Gardner and Bethan Jones (BBC Wales).

Sinchronicity was commissioned by Julian Bellamy, Controller of BBC THREE. Filming begins next month.

Shine Executive Producer Julian Murphy said: "Sinchronicity's a project that's very close to our hearts so we're absolutely delighted to be given the chance to make it by the BBC.

"It's funny, innovative and about a question that haunts us all - 'What if?'"

Key casting includes: Doctor Who star Camille Coduri as Peggy; Paul Chequer (As If) as Nathan; Daniel Percival (Dirty War) as Jase; Jemima Rooper (Hex) as Fi; Navin Chowdhry (Teachers) plays Mac; John Sheahan (Bleak House) plays Fabien and Danielle Urbas as Rosa.

Julian Bellamy said: "I'm delighted that we're doing our first drama with Shine on BBC THREE.

"Sinchronicity is a smart, modern drama with an inventive narrative device at its heart.

"It chimes perfectly with the core values of the channel - as being young, contemporary and entertaining - and reflects the interests, lifestyles and aspirations of the BBC THREE audience."
