Making Your Mind Up

Making Your Mind Up

Hello United Kingdom, this is Athens calling... well it will be in May for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest!

However, first the nation needs to make its mind up over which song should be chosen to bring home the coveted trophy.

Yes, it's time again to cast your vote for the UK's Eurovision entry when Making Your Mind Up makes its triumphant return to BBC ONE on Saturday 4 March 2006.

This year's line-up sees a combination of proven number one-selling artists fighting it out against some new kids on the pop-block!

Former member of the UK's most successful boy band of recent years, Blue, and star of the jungle, Antony Costa will be battling it out against another number one-selling artist Kym Marsh, originally from Hear'Say and a successful solo artist in her own right.

The all-male soulful vocal harmony group Four Story, with a strong musical pedigree, will be lining up against new-girls on the block and stars of BBC Scotland's River City, City Chix.

Joining them on stage is the UK's most unique MC, Daz Sampson, who has racked up a number of pop and dance chart hits under various guises, and Goran Kay, a talented singer-songwriter destined for big things!

Making You Mind Up is hosted by the Don of Eurovision, Sir Terry Wogan and Natasha Kaplinsky. They will be joined in the studio by a celebrity panel who will casting their expert eyes over the Euro-hopefuls.

However, it's the British public who decides who will be getting on that plane to Athens.

Viewers can vote on their favourite act by phone, text or via with all the profits from the calls going to BBC Children In Need.

The whole show will also be broadcast around the world via a simultaneous webcast adding a truly global feel to the event!

Making Your Mind Up culminates in a results show later in the evening. Just like the final in May, points are allocated regionally with seven celebrities revealing the scores via video-link to the studio.

Once all the votes have been counted and verified, the act with the most points will be crowned the Making Your Mind Up 2006 champion and can start packing their bags for Greece!
