BBC THREE and BBC FOUR have recorded their most successful month by average weekly reach since the channels launched in February 2003 and March 2002 respectively.
Consolidated figures for October reveal that BBC THREE's average weekly reach among all individuals in digital homes in peaktime was 9.4 million, accounting for 25 per cent of the available audience, ahead of all digital channels each week except ITV2.
Amongst 25 to 34-year-olds, average weekly reach in digital homes in peak-time was 34 per cent.
This was due in part to BBC THREE's 'disturbingly funny thriller' Funland, which premiered with 740,000 (its most successful drama premiere to date after Russell T Davies' Casanova), and which averaged 468,000 over 11 episodes; and factual series Honey We're Killing The Kids (which peaked at 617,000 and averaged 460,000 over six episodes).
Across October, BBC FOUR's average weekly reach amongst all individuals in peaktime was 4.6 million, accounting for nearly 12 per cent of the available audience - beating all other comparable multi-channels.
This was due to a wide range of programmes that attracted high audiences, including programmes within The Lost Decade season, and Armando Iannucci's caustic political satire, The Thick Of It.
