Jon Sopel is to become the new presenter of The Politics Show.
The BBC News 24 reporter, who recently covered the Tsunami from Sri Lanka and the United States elections, will take the helm on the BBC ONE Sunday lunchtime show in September.
He said: "The next couple of years promise to be fascinating politically and it's an exciting time to be joining The Politics Show."
Jon Sopel will continue to work with BBC News 24 four days a week.
He replaces Jeremy Vine, who is looking forward to spending more of his weekends with his family.
